Job Search Assistance-

Job Search Workshop Series:

Even during the best of times, searching for employment can be extremely stressful.  The process can feel overwhelming if the job search continues for an extended period of time or occurs during a period of recession.  Hopelessness and isolation are very common results.  You don't have to deal with the job search alone. CYC's Counseling Department now porvides two separate services that can greatly enhance the effectiveness of the job search process while creating support and motivation to prevent discouragement.  Our new services include the following:

Individual Consultation:

Clients can meet with our career and employment consultants to assess their own unique situation and to develop a comprehensive and intensive job search action plan. All relevant issues will be addressed.  We will help clients to implement this plan; to remain focused and motivated; and to make adjustment as needed.  Meetings are confidential and can be arranged at times which are convenient.

Job Search Workshop Series:

Our job search workshop series is a class setting that provides two major areas of critical support.  Firstly, it teaches many specific strategies and skills proven effective in obtaining employment.  Secondly, each seminar offers support, encouragement, and numerous practical methods to maintain motivation and to prevent despair.  All workshops are interactive, motivating, and will address specific needs identified by the participants.

INSTRUCTORS: Ann Grasso LMSW and Tony Grasso LCSW have both been licensed social workers for 30 years.  Tony Grasso is the Director of Clinical Services for Colonie Youth Center.  Providing a wide range of employment services for hundreds of youth and adults since 1992, Ann and Tony assist in career planning, job search and advanced workplace readiness training.  This workshop series and the presenters are approved for the New york State Workforce Eligible Training Providers List.
